If you follow me on Instagram then you will know it is no secret that I love love flowers. I'd say that after the multitude of makeup and food related photos, with the occasional cat snap thrown in for good measure, every couple of days there will always be a photo of some beautiful blooms. My new year's resolution this year was to buy myself a bunch of flowers every Friday as a weekend treat and there is nothing I love to do more than spend time strolling the length of Columbia Road flower market or swooning over the colourful assemble of plants and bouquets outside of Liberty London. Since I started planning my Summer wedding last year I have become more and more fascinated and excited about the seasonal blooms and pastel petals I hope to have at my big day so I was really keen to take part in this Flower Council of Holland competition, combining friendship and flowers, with the opportunity for you and your friend to win a bouquet of flowers.
This challenge, hosted on the Flower Council of Holland Facebook page, simply asks you to name your best friend's favourite flower to be in with a chance of winning so I entered myself and chose to guess my mum's favourite flowers, knowing our mutual love of all things floral. Flowers of Holland also asked me to answer some other questions about my best friend to share on my blog and seeing as I am writing this on Mother's Day, I thought it would be nice to put the spotlight on my lovely mum for a change.
1. Favourite cafe? There is a little place near where I live called the Secret Garden Tea Rooms which serves home baked scones under floral arches and surrounded by the perfumed aroma of blossoming flowers so I would say this is her favourite place to go for tea, peace and quiet.
2. Favourite place to shop? I'd say maybe John Lewis as it has everything from the delicious food hall to gorgeous fabrics and everything in between.
3. Favourite city? Anywhere in Italy - probably Florence because of the beautiful scenery and architecture not to mention the mouth-watering gelato!
4. Favourite movie? One of our favourites to watch together is definitely The Talented Mr Ripley. Rolling Italian coastline and Jude Law - what more could you want?!
5. Favourite flower? White lilies, ranunculus or peonies (which are my favourite too!)
6. Favourite fragrance? DKNY Be Delicious or Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey.
I nominate Beauty and the Dirt to take part in this challenge too and would love to know if you enter the Flowers of Holland competition as what better way is there to celebrate a special friendship than with some beautiful flowers.
