Empties: February 2013

While it's not as massive as last month, I'm quite pleased with the amount of empties I went through this month as well. Inspired by pinksofoxy on Youtube's "Make Out 2013" videos where she's getting rid of a lot of excess stuff, I have managed to trash a few things I knew I was never going to use and it feels really good! Just a few items for now, but hopefully I will slowly get better at it. Onto my empties..

Kerastase Reflection Bain Miroir Shampoo 1000ml
I've had this huge shampoo bottle for absolutely ages now and I am so happy to finally be finished with it! I don't think I'll be buying these mega sized products for a long time, possibly ever. The Reflection line is for colour treated hair and the shampoo is quite nice. It doesn't leave hair as dry as a lot of other shampoos and I think it's somewhat more gentle on the hair. Not something I will re-purchase for a long time as I am so sick of it, and also I want to try and use sulfate free shampoos, but it's a decent product and besides those things, I could.

Kerastase Reflection Chroma Reflect Mask 200ml
Another product from the Reflection range. This mask is decent for hair that isn't too damaged or too dry. If your coloring your hair and it's in fairly good condition this is a really nice hair mask. It's not too heavy and if you don't need too heavy this is great as it doesn't weigh your hair down so you can still get some of that nice volume in it.

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Mask 250ml
This mask is absolutely amazing! It really helps repair damaged hair, but it also gives a lot of moisture and so you end up with healthy, shiny hair. It also doesn't weigh hair down. Best mask I've ever used - already re-purchased!

JOICO K-PAK Reconstruct Deep-Penetrating Reconstructor
This mask has won a ridiculous amount of awards and it's absolutely amazing. However, this is for seriously damaged hair and therefore I won't repurchase this for a while - hopefully! Back when I was bleaching my hair this kept my hair in really good shape. When I had my hair disaster about a year ago this was one of the first things I bought to try and fix it. If your hair is in really bad condition, this stuff is what you need. It's the best reconstructing treatment there is.

Batiste Original Dry Shampoo
This stuff is great. Not as great as my all-time favourite dry shampoo from Klorane, but it does it's job. I don't like the white residue it leaves though, but to replace this I've bought the version for brunettes so I'm hoping it will be just as good just without the white stuff.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter
This is a gorgeous body butter with that signature Soap & Glory scent. It moisturises well, doesn't take long to absorb and doesn't leave any residue on the skin. The 'Butter Up Deluxe Body Smoothing Cream' by the same brand is still my favorite and it moisturises better than this, but the righteous butter is still a very nice product.

Clarins Moisture-Rich Body Lotion 100ml Deluxe Sample
Another one of these! Not much to add to what I've said before; I love this. It moisturises well, but no residue. It absorbs quickly and barely has any scent.

Kanebo Sensai Cellular Performance Intensive Hand Treatment SPF 8
So sad this is finished! It's way too expensive so I won't be re-purchasing straight away, but I think I will before the start of winter next year. This is the best hand cream I've ever used.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser - click here for review -
I think everyone already knows about this product. I bought it about a year and so ago and I used it here and there but it never worked for me. As part of my project to finish stuff up I decided to use this up, but this time without the muslin cloth. If only I'd done that before, as a normal cleanser this was really nice and gentle to my skin and left it nice and comfortable, unlike so many other cleansers that completely strips the skin.

Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Eye Gel
I bought this thinking I could use it around my eyes when they were puffy, but it makes my eyes sting and burn. I've kept it and tried using only a minimal amount or tried to make it work (not sure why, so silly) but it keeps burning like hell. So I am tossing it!

Loréal Renewal Lash Serum
Another product I am throwing away. This doesn't do anything for the lashes at all. I used it at night, and all it did was cause my lashes to break off.

Pearl Drops Daily Pro-White Toothpaste
My second and last one of these that I bought in London. I love the Pearl Drops toothpastes, but this one isn't as good as the Hollywood Smile one, which is absolutely amazing. Still a good toothpaste though with a nice minty fresh taste. It makes teeth a tad whiter, but not as much as the Hollywood Smile.

Revlon ColorStay Foundation for Combination/Oily Skin in #180 - click here for review -
There's a tiny bit left of this but I was enough with it already so in the trash it goes. It's a nice enough foundation and there was a time I really enjoyed using it, but I don't like this heavy a coverage any longer and I can only wear this pale a shade in the winter. I didn't want to hang onto the tiny bit for a year until next winter so in the trash it goes. I probably won't re-purchase this.

Dior DiorShow Extase Mascara Sample - click here for review -
One of my all-time favourite mascaras! Never happy when this one runs out. It lengthens, gives a decent amount of volume, but keeps lashes separate and clump free! I have an overwhelming amount of mascara lying around, but once it's all gone I will most definitely buy this.

Jouer Illuminating Moisture Tint sachet sample
Only got to use this once, so my experience is limited, but I was really impressed! Left skin looking seriously radiant and healthy, felt like nothing on the skin and was comfortable to wear all day. This has definitely gone on my list over things I am interested in trying out.

Bioderma Crealine H20 Solution Micellaire
My go-to makeup remover. For the face, nothing beats this. It doesn't remove eye makeup in one swipe, but it does get it off quite well and it doesn't sting my eyes, which a lot of eye makeup removers do, so I love this. Already bought another duo of this.

TAAJ Eau Micellaire De L'Himalaya 100ml
I bought this when I was in Paris almost a year ago and it's only finished now. That should speak volumes. This stuff was way too harsh for my skin, and definitely for my eyes. When used to remove eye makeup, it really burned and stung my eyes, and it wasn't even that efficient  I finished it up using it to remove my face makeup, and it was alright for that, but I'm sticking to my much more gentle Bioderma.

Shiseido The Skincare Instant Eye and Lip Makeup Remover 30ml Deluxe Sample
This stuff is alright. It's not very good at removing eye makeup, so you have to be patient, but it does remove it eventually. Not worth the price in my opinion. Bioderma is cheaper, and better.

Clarins Water Comfort One Step Cleanser 10ml sample x 3
I quite like this stuff. I've used these to remove face makeup only, and it's really quite good. It removes makeup efficiently, without stripping the skin so it's left comfortable and not red. The smell is also gorgeous, very refreshing and 'citrusy'.

Guerlain Secret De Pureté BiPhase Eye & Lip Makeup Remover
This stuff is quite nice. Removes a decent chunk of eye makeup quite easily. It's on the pricier side of the spectrum, so I'm not sure I'd say it's worth that. But that taken out of account, it's a very decent eye makeup remover. Leaves quite the oily residue though, so it should only be used at night before your going to wash your face, and not for touch ups etc. When left on a bit, the oily stuff keeps eye area nice and soothed.

Esteé Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher 7ml Deluxe Sample x 3
I really like this stuff. Not sure exactly what it's doing in terms of pores, though I have seen some improvement. It has a ton of silicone that gives a nice optical illusion of skin being a tad nicer than it is, that's quite nice. I have a ton of these samples to go through so I will see in a few months if I decide to continue using this or not. I am slightly worried that I go through 21ml of this in just over a month though.

Esteé Lauder Advanced Night Repair 7ml Deluxe Sample x2 - click here for review -
Love this stuff, won't be without this stuff. See review for more, or any other empties post!

Esteé Lauder Hydrationist 7ml Deluxe Sample
Finished the full sized version of this not too long ago, and now this sample as well. Used this one down my neck only. It's a very nice moisture-only moisturiser, smells really nice and clean and makes skin feel nice and comfortable all day.

Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil and Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil 2ml Samples
I promised I was done with the oils and fret not, these are the face oils not the body ones. I honestly can't tell these two much apart when on my face. They are both lovely though. I like to use them while having a hair mask in as a nice moisturising treatment. They are quite nice, but I can't get used to oils on my face for now, and so I won't be buying the full size of either of them.
