For months i lusted over the Too Faced Ultimate Natural Love Palette. It was originally released in America at the beginning of March but it only come out in the UK at the beginning of May. Over the two month period between its launch in the US and when it finally arrived to the UK, a war raged in my mind. Did i need it and was it worth £52? I read multiple reviews from some of my most trusted blogs. Unfortunately the reviews were very mixed but overall it seemed everyone loved the colour scheme; it was a question of the quality of some of the shadows that made people unsure about this palette. In the end i decided trying it was going to be the best way of getting answers. After about a month of using this palette i have my own thoughts as i've now used all of the shadows and i have a couple of go to looks.
The only other Too Faced palette i've tried is the Sweet Peach palette which is one of my absolute favourites. The shade range is perfection in my eyes, a lot of warm tones with only a small splash of colour for when i'm feeling slightly more adventurous. The formula of each shadow is incredible and there isn't a single bad egg. When you compare this to the Natural Love palette i can see why people don't think the same care has been taken to formulate the shadows. Some of the shadows do have quite a bit of fall out and they aren't as pigmented. A good example of this is Fingers Crossed, it is a dark brown with a golden shimmer running through it but it doesn't come across as dark as you would expect it to. Also Stiletto which is the matte black isn't a jet black so you can't use it as a liner and it doesn't blend very well when you are trying to smoke out an eye look. I know a lot of people don't like Fairy Tale as it is a chunky glitter gold shadow. The gold doesn't really come across but as a foil glitter used in the centre of the eye to form a sort of halo eye it looks lovely. I think you just need to know the best way to use it. For the most part i do like the shadows but none of them are super pigmented. I quite like this because i find them easier to work with as a make up amateur but if you are more experienced then this could be a little bit basic.
Overall i don't mind the pigmentation of the shadows and i find the colours blend well so for me that isn't a problem. I know a lot of people aren't happy about the shade range. Personally i think it has the perfect mix of natural/nude shades. There is a mix of cool and warm tones which all work together. My problem with the shades is that only a couple of them are exclusive to this palette. This palette features shades from 3 other Too Faced Palettes; The Natural Eyes Palette, Natural Matte and Natural at Night Palette. Obviously when you look at it, this was £52 which isn't a bad price as you would spend more on the three palettes but you could buy one of those palettes for £32, especially if one contains the colours you like. I don't like that this is a limited edition palette that seems slightly like it was a half assed attempt at making money. Obviously i fell for this and still bought the palette but i do think it should have included more shades unique to this palette.
Some of my favourite looks from this palette come from shades that i never expected to like such as Bunny Nose. I've always avoid pink shadows because i think they can make you look like you have an eye infection but using Bunny Nose as a small part of my eye look has been a great way of including a bit of pink without being over the top. I have been using Lace Teddy as a transition shade, Cutie Patootie all over the lid, Undercover in the outer corner and i use Bunny Nose to mix between Cutie Patootie and Undercover. With a pink blush and a pale pink lipstick it has been a look i've worn a lot this month. Another look i've loved is on the opposite end of the scale and its super warm using Spotlight/Heaven as a transition shade, a bit of Honeymoon and Hot & Bothered all over the lid with Makeup & Chill in the crease/outer corner. Sometimes i will add a little bit of Fairytale over the lid if i'm feeling extra. Honey Pot is also one of my favourites, it is one of the most stunning gold shades and it shimmers like it is a liquid gold. I've also enjoyed Coffee Date, Love Bug, Chocolate Martini, Push Up and Moonbeam. There are a few i can't imagine i would use very often but still i love the majority of the palette. I think it has just the right balance of shimmer and matte shades but i do love a shimmer shadow.
Let's talk packaging, this palette is almost two times the size of the Sweet Peach palette so it is rather large but it is thin so it doesn't seem bulky. It has a decent sized mirror which i like to use whilst i am doing my make up in the mornings. The outside of this packaging is beautiful and it reminds me of a fairy tale book, it is super cute but not over the top. A beautiful detail on this palette is the velvet detailing on the cover and i'm glad it's not velvet all over because it gets dirty so easily, just think of how dirty the Urban Decay Naked Palette gets.

A big question is whether or not it is worth its £52 price tag. I think it is but it is exactly the sort of palette i like. I don't love shadows which are super pigmented as they are harder to blend and work with. However that does make this palette better for personal use rather than free lance work as it is so much money and they aren't going to be pigmented enough for everyone. Another thing to consider is the mix of shades, if you are looking for colour or something vastly different from other palettes then this isn't going to be for you. Also there is a lot of shimmer shades so if you like a lot of matte shades you might be better looking at some of the Tarte palettes. Personally I have fallen in love with the palette and i think it is stunning. If you wear natural eye shadow shades every day like i do then it is going to be worth it.
