I received a new hand wash and a hand cream from Basler Beauty to put to the test*. With Covid-19 around, I thought it's a good product combo to show on the blog.
The hand wash comes in three different scents: milk & honey, aloe vera or lemongrass & orange. I chose milk & honey because it sounds delicious and moisturizing (can something sound moisturizing? To me, this does... so let's just go with it). To accompany it, I got the Basler Special Care tea tree oil hand cream.
The milk & honey hand wash is a liquid soap without alcohol, parabens, silicones or paraffin. It comes in a generous bottle of 500ml. Basler wanted to create a gentle hand wash which is still effective. It contains honey, milk proteins, panthenol and enzymes to clean and moisturise the skin at the same time.
I expected a lovely scent when I heard the name milk & honey and I was not disappointed. This smells heavenly! It's fresher than I would've expected, slightly sweet but still carries the warmth of the honey & milk combo I had in mind.
After I've washed my hands with the product, my hands feel clean and I can tell it removed the excess oils from the surface of my skin. Nevertheless, my skin isn't too dry, just clean. That's what I want soap to do. Long story short: This soap smells nice, doesn't dry out my skin more than a soap is supposed to and it leaves my hands clean.

In the end, as we wash our hands quite often during the day, they sometimes need a little extra care. The Basler Special Care tea tree oil hand cream is made for severely dry hands. My hands aren't particularly dry at the moment so I can't tell you how the hand cream performs on severely dry skin but I can still share my impression.
First of all, (and I have to say I was warned by my lovely PR contact that this would be the case) this hand cream isn't exactly a perfumers dream. If you've ever used tea tree oil before, you'll know that the scent is rather strong. Here, we've got an obvious combination of tea tree oil and camomile. I kind of like it, but it's not everyones cup of tea. However, both ingredients are very soothing for the skin. I don't use this hand cream during the day because it is quite rich and leaves a thin and slightly sticky film on my skin which lasts for the first few minutes. I keep it on my bedside table and use it before bed so my skin is nicely moisturised in the morning. It does the trick for me - my hands feel very smooth after I've used it - but it's not my favourite hand cream as I'm not into how it feels on my hands right after I've applied it.
Just like the hand wash, the hand cream doesn't contain silicones, parabens, alcohol or paraffins and it's completely vegan.
The hand washes cost CHF 17.50, the hand cream is CHF 10.50 and they're available in the Basler Beauty online shop. I've just seen that they have an 11% discount in the shop till the 26th of May.
All in all, they're good products which I guess are suitable for sensitive skin. The price is a bit above your average hand wash or hand cream and I dare say there are cheaper options with the same quality on the market. The selling point for me would clearly be the scent of the soap.
Have a lovely day and stay well!
xx Cheryl
